menu planning, recipe

What’s to eat this week?

Last week I shared my menu plan, and one of my girlfriends (thanks, Sharon!) asked if I would share it each week so other folks could get ideas.  Since the recipes we use are usually quick, cheap, and easy (at least during the week – Bailey cooks on the weekends so all bets are off), I hope you guys get some use out of them.  I’m also attaching the links to the recipes so you can click right on the bold text.  Let me know how they work out!

Sunday – Pork Chops (on the new grill-more about that later), skillet corn and mashed potatoes

Monday – Lettuce wraps, sliced tomatoes w/olive oil, salt & pepper

Tuesday – Beef Stroganoff (slow cooker), egg noodles

Wednesday –Ham croquettes, salad

Thursday – Dinner out w/friends (Cuban Diner in Marietta – delicious!)

Friday – Steak on the grill, roast potatoes, broccoli. Easiest roast potatoes – cube potatoes, toss with olive oil and Cavenders Greek Seasoning (if you don’t have this in your cabinet already, go get it. Put it on your grocery list now, seriously. We put in everything). Preheat your oven to 450 degrees, throw them on a pan and cook them for about 20 minutes, flipping them over halfway through.

Saturday – Market choice. Our family likes food so much that we consider shopping for groceries fun. We’ll head to the Marietta Farmer’s market for fresh vegetables, or if we have time, over to the Buford Highway Farmers Market and see what they have, what looks good, and go from there.

I would love to hear about any recipes you love – or recommendations on other markets?

And now I’m off to join these two on the couch for cinnamon rolls and Despicable Me.  Happy Saturday from the Baileys!rainy day couch
